The Center for Care Innovations (CCI) designs and carries out programs focused on transforming the health care safety net to prepare providers for the future. CCI provides research, technical assistance, and funding for specific projects. They also facilitate learning networks for health care safety net organizations.
This project supports two innovation consultants, who will provide training and technical assistance to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and Trinitas Regional Medical Center during a planning process to develop an approach and implementation plan for an Innovation Center at each facility. The Innovation Center for this project is based on a model followed by the Columbus Regional Health System, in Columbus, Indiana. The Columbus model focuses on creating innovations that improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes, lower costs, and enhance the hospital’s market position. The goals of the Innovation Centers at St. Joseph’s and Trinitas are to create a space conducive to innovation, provide a channel for employees at all levels to submit ideas for improvement, and develop a multi-disciplinary team that is proficient in leading staff through the innovation process.
