Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) offers a broad range of behavioral health (mental health and substance use) services. UBHC, a component of Rutgers University Medical School, provides clinical care, conducts research to develop new treatments, and trains behavioral health professionals.
This project builds on a planning grant in which the primary physical, behavioral, and addictions health stakeholders at Rutgers University came together to build and commit to a plan for developing a new educational and clinical practice infrastructure that would integrate behavioral health into all phases of healthcare clinical training. The current project implements this plan. In it, the eight Rutgers health professions schools are partnering to educate and train classroom and practicum students, interns, residents, and working professionals in collaborative, integrated practice, and to ensure that the team-based skills learned are implemented in clinical settings.
