The New Jersey Healthcare Quality Institute (NJHQI) is a nonprofit organization that works to ensure that safety, quality, accountability, and cost containment are closely aligned and facilitate the delivery of healthcare services in New Jersey.
This project supports a multi-stakeholder initiative to recommend a redesign of New Jersey’s Medicaid program. NJHQI is convening stakeholders to discuss what works and what is lacking in the State’s current Medicaid program. To supplement the discussion, NJHQI also is researching other states’ successful innovations to identify best practices and improvements in delivery and payment within their Medicaid programs. The stakeholder groups will develop recommendations for a blueprint to redesign New Jersey’s Medicaid system to achieve the “Triple Aim” of improved patient experience, improved population health, and reduced cost of care. Engaging all key stakeholders, including State government leadership, to ensure buy-in for the initiative and recommended system design changes is a critical component of the project.
